I love Disney movies, even though I am over 50. My favorites are "Bambi," "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh," "The Living Desert," "Darby O`Gill & the Little People," "Pecos Bill" & "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." Must I stop there for there are so many! I really enjoy the essense of childhood presented in them: the way the world ought to be instead of the way it really is. I enjoyed going to the theater until they put up multiplexes. I have a really awesome Home Theater I use all the time. I love movie film from 8mm to 70mm. I have several Disney movies on 16mm in their gold cans that I use mostly for decoration.

Walt Disney`s SECRETS OF LIFE Beginning and End of Movie in Widescreen and CinemaScope

Walt Disney`s "Secrets of Life" (1956) immpresively switches from widescreen to CinemaScope for the final segment. This video demonstates that effect better than watching the DVD does.

This is most likely how the movie began when it played in theaters in 1973. Included is the rare Happy 50 Years of Walt Disney Productions.

Disney Blackbeard`s Ghost 2 Buena Vistas, Titles
Переглядів 22 тис.15 років тому
Blackbeard`s Ghost was released in 1968 and rereleased in 1976. The Buena Vista logo on the DVD looks like it was rereleased again in 1984, but there is no record of this. Perhaps it is from a rerelease outside the U.S.
Disney Buena Vistas 1979 to 1984

Several Buena Vistas were left out of Disney RKO and Buena Vista Movie Intros because they had no music. Here is presented all of the BVs that I have from 1979 to 1984. The movies that did not bear the Disney name are not included.
Disney Three Caballeros Buena Vista, RKO

This Buena Vista accidentally got left out of DISNEY RKO AND BUENA VISTA MOVIE INTROS. There are some very interesting differences between the rerelease, with the BV, and the original release, with the RKO.
Disney RKO and Buena Vista Movie Intros

Disney had a unique way of beginning his movies. Here are, to the best of my knowledge, all of the RKOs and Buena Vistas that I have collected that are not in DISNEY BUENA VISTA MOVIE INTROS. I must give credit to HbVideos for the music on "The Litterbug." The DVD from Disney just had the BV with no music.

Disney Buena Vista Movie Intros
Переглядів 2 млн15 років тому
Disney had a unique way of beginning their movies from 1953 to 1983 with a 4 second fanfare of music and the Buena Vista logo. Some were simple, some complex. Most were different, but some were repeated. Here is presented most of my collection in chronological order. I have a few more, but would have made the video more than 10 minutes.

Cool vid, bro ...although some of the BV idents -like the one @ 2:41 for example- seem to be a little dated or deteriorated though.....
7:13 sound a lot similar than the columbia tristar television 1996 jingle
These titles (Including the Happy 50th Disney Presentation thing) are used in the Netflix version of this film too.
Why are you doing a comparison at 240p? That's a useless comparison it's hard to even see the differences really.
It's interesting that Disney, which was masterful at branding, never created or used a standard musical theme for the Buena Vista titles that opened all their films. But I guess the Disney name was the most important part, and Buena Vista wasn't significant enough to warrant its own music. Still...the very first thing on the screen is important...at least I think so.

Very interesting film with some great graphic design at the beginning. Thanks for posting it!
SEMPER PARATUS!
This film won an Academy Award for Best Documentary Short.
this won an oscar!
He's awesome!
My grandfather was on the westwind.
Great presentation. I wonder how they accomplished this in the theaters. They would have needed two different lenses for the projector. A spherical lens for the non Cinemascope portions of the film, and an anamorphic lens to show the Cinemascope. So they either had to pause the film while the lenses were changed, or they used a second projector to show the Cinemascope portion. Many small theaters couldn't afford to show Cinemascope, so there must have been an alternate print for those theaters.
Great presentation. I wonder how they accomplished this transition in the theater. Most of the film would have been projected with a spherical lens, since it was filmed with a spherical lens, but Cinemascope requires the use of an anamorphic projection lens, which unsqueezes the squeezed image on the film. They either had to stop the film and switch lenses, or else they must have used two projectors, with the final Cinemascope reel on a separate projector. Anyone know?
I remember watching this at school in 1965.
I think they look pretty much the same except the newer one is brighter
@HOE68YEN The Disney movie you are thinking of is "The Horse Without a Head." It is available on DVD from The Disney Movie Club, and on Amazon.com.

It was during that time that his helicopter malfunctioned and crashed into the water and he and his passenger were both killed. My father was a very young boy and never got to see this film until tonight. Thank you, my 65 yr old dad got to see his father again after 57 years and was able to see what his last days were all about.
I would like to thank the person who posted this film. My grandfather Lt. George Eldo Eiswald was on the Westwind during the making of this film and was a helicopter pilot.
Thank You for posting this compilation of Buena Vista intros. Truly! these were my favorites before watching a Disney movie. And i'm so glad that Disney/Buena Vista Home Entertainment acknowledges the intros into their features on DVD now. I salute for osting this.

@MatthewtheY One thing I've never understood is where those (and other) reissue prints were being shown. Were they playing in theaters during the '60s and '70s with these feature films? I can't think of any other purpose those reissue prints would have been made for, because as far as I'm aware the shorts had almost no television life (outside of cut-and-paste versions on Wonderful World of Disney) until pretty much the 1980s.
@Gaarahinafan2 "Cool! Why don't they still show the Buena Vista logo in the new Disney films of today?" Buena Vista was formed to distribute Disney stuff after Disney broke ties with RKO in 1953. Until Eisner took over in the mid-80s, Disney was still a small independent, and wasn't considered one of the majors. Since it's become a giant, "Walt Disney Pictures" now has the high profile and resoures to handle their own distribution, although technically it's still done by Buena Vista.
interesting, but not at all surprising. With how much work had to go into animation back then (better than now in my opinion) it would only be logical to save time and money to reuse some poses.
the bottom one is sped up to 30 frames per second. It must have come from a European print.
LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMBERT, the sheepish lion...
Where's the logo for Bambi?!
Now that I think about it, maybe the BV version is the one from the lone reissue, in 1977.
That wolf scene looks like something that could have came from the first Rugrats movie aswell :S
The RKO that was used for Melody 1953 was the same one they used in Fantasia. Plus the RKO to Cinderella was on the 1995 laser disc.
Another thing you could show is how this one bluebird in "Bambi" was later seen in the opening scene of "Alice In Wonderland".
@Kartoonkid95 __Sure you're righto! but, i have seen Doanld's diary, and this version has the originald RKO logo with the fanfare, maybe they banned it at the 56-57

why does this at all matter? Do you feel cheated in some way? It probably saved time and money and still served the stories well.
ARISTOCATS!
@RandomGenericComment you got all wrong 8to 16to35 add a other buena vista on his video thats where the fox and the hound should be there
I think I just logged on the internet and just went back to my childhood.
